KSBY’S annual Season of Hope is coming to a close this week.

It’s the Central Coast’s largest toy and food drive and donations help families in need on the Central Coast.

On Tuesday, Kennedy Club Fitness donated gift certificates for foster kids to take swim lessons at its pool in Paso Robles.

Officials with the Department of Social Services say they’re grateful for all the toy donations but gift cards are also appreciated.

“There are a lot of children that want to choose their own toys, and so often times getting a gift card or getting something more meaningful, money towards a gift card or combining gift cards helps them purchase something that they really had their eye on, particularly the older children,” said Christopher Monza, San Luis Obispo County Department of Social Services Division Manager.

There’s still time to donate.

On Wednesday, KSBY anchor Carina Corral will broadcast live, collecting donations at Pacific Premier Bank in Santa Maria at 1825 S. Broadway from 5-7 p.m.

On Thursday, KSBY Chief Meteorologist Dave Hovde will be live at Paso Robles KIA at 2700 Theatre Dr. in Paso Robles, from 5-7 p.m.

Season of Hope wraps up on Friday with a live broadcast at the KSBY studio in San Luis Obispo during the evening newscasts.
