Two free kettlebell sport lifting workshops will be held for the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Davidson County on Nov. 5 and 6.

Pit Stops for Hope is sponsoring two free kettlebell sport lifting workshops for the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Davidson County Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6, from 3:30-5 p.m. All ages and all athletic backgrounds are encouraged to learn about this sport and the amazing fitness levels one can achieve with the training methodologies that can also enhance other sports.

The workshops will be conducted by Coach Moses Dungca from Kettlebell Sanctuary, home of the Las Vegas Kettlebell Club. Coach Moses has developed a competitive team with winning athletes that each hold several titles — Candidate Master of Sport (CMS), Master of Sport (MS) and Master of Sport World Class (MSWC).

Ray Wright of Pit Stops for Hope happened to drop in to Coach Moses’s gym during a visit to Las Vegas in 2017 and thus discovered kettlebell sport lifting. He began training with Coach Moses’ highest ranked competitive athlete and won first place at his first competition in 2018. Ray established the War Horse Kettlebell Club and has been teaching and training kettlebell sport lifting to youth and adults in his local community.

Pit Stops for Hope is excited to offer these workshops for the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Davidson County for the kids to learn something new and fun for their health and fitness.

Brandon Lomax, executive director for the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, stated, “With all the safety measures currently in place for COVID-19, many kids have had their sports teams’ seasons and competitions canceled, thus leaving a real void in terms of physical fitness activities for some of them. Pit Stops for Hope has stepped in to help us address this need by offering these workshops. This will be an exciting chance for them to learn about and participate in a new sport that is sure to keep them active.”
