So there’s a cold front in July, eh? By cold front, they really mean temperatures in the 80s, but at the rate this summer heat is rising, we’ll take it.

Visual artist and singer/songwriter Solange Knowles presents an extended director’s cut featuring new scenes and musical arrangements of her interdisciplinary performance art film “When I Get Home”.  Admission is free, but seating in NOMA’s Stern Auditorium is limited. What: Closing of the Big Blue Doors
When: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Louisiana Children’s Museum
Price: $10

Come play on the final day that LCM is open to the public and enjoy your favorite exhibits one last time! Receive a temporary tattoo and logo sticker, decorate a second line hanky, and sign your name on a Big Blue Door! What: 13th Annual Faubourg St. John Bastille Day Block Party
When: 4:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m.
Where: 3100 block Ponce de Leon Streets, between North Lopez and Esplanade
Price: Free

After being rained out earlier in the month, the Bastille Day Block Party is back! Feeling French? Celebrate Bastille Day in the neighborhood of French Creole aristocracy! Neighborhood merchants will have food and beverages for sale and an arts market. There will be two bands and a costume contest for the best Marie Antoinette or Napoleon costume. Click here for more information.

Sunday is the final day of the New Orleans MechaCon Anime Convention, but you know what they say, save the best for last! Scheduled ambassadors, like Hynden Walch and Mela Lee will be signing autographs, and there will be a Kawaii Corner, vendors market and cosplay repair section will be open.
